Belgian rock heavyweights Triggerfinger announce their sixth studio album Tarmac, due September 18 via Sony Music and Hufter, alongside the release of new single “Through The Beam”, a track that finds the band sharpening their edge while expanding their sonic reach.

Known for more than two decades of commanding live performances and razor-tight musicianship, Triggerfinger step into a new chapter that carries both continuity and reinvention. “Through The Beam” captures that balance, pairing their signature rock intensity with subtle layers of funk, alternative pop and electronic texture.

The track moves with controlled urgency. Choppy rhythmic interplay, fuzz-drenched guitars and a pulsing low-end create forward motion, while the vocals sit in a reflective haze, delivering hooks that feel immediate yet slightly submerged. It is a sound that leans into tension as much as release, where momentum builds without ever losing grip.

Written by Ruben Block and Mario Goossens and produced alongside Mitchell Froom, the single reflects a production approach that values space as much as impact. The mix by Tchad Blake and mastering by Matt Colton further refine its sharp, tactile quality, giving the track a polished yet volatile character.

Lyrically, vocalist Ruben Block frames the song around distraction, desire and perception in a world saturated with stimuli, where attention is constantly pulled outward. There is a sense of searching embedded in the track, not for something missing, but for what already exists in plain sight.

Following a 25-date European tour that reaffirmed their reputation as a formidable live force, Triggerfinger return with renewed momentum. After a period that included a hiatus, lineup changes and global disruption, Tarmac signals a band reconnected with its core identity while open to new direction.

Across their career, Triggerfinger have shared stages with acts such as The Rolling Stones and Thin Lizzy, building a reputation rooted in intensity, precision and presence. That same energy runs through “Through The Beam”, which feels both familiar and freshly recalibrated.

As they prepare for a wide-ranging European tour in support of Tarmac, Triggerfinger reassert themselves not by reinventing who they are, but by refining it. “Through The Beam” stands as a clear signal: the engine is running again, and it is running loud.
