Bag O’ Nails are a powerhouse blues-rock trio who’ve been electrifying audiences with their high-octane performances since 2004.
Drawing inspiration from legends like Gary Moore and Jeff Healey, guitarist and vocalist Trevor Murray delivers searing solos and soulful vocals often described as a mix of Joe Cocker and Bruce Springsteen. Backed by the thunderous rhythm section of John and Kaos, the band unleashes a wall of sound worthy of the great rock trios.
Their debut EP Attitude Blues and live album Nailed Live at St Andrews Hotel both earned strong airplay across Victoria, with PBS FM’s Steve Passiouras calling the latter “an absolute scorcher.”
Fresh from a standout set at the 2025 Echuca Moama Winter Blues Festival, Bag O’ Nails have cemented their place as one of Australia’s most exciting live blues-rock acts. The Songwriter Series: New York Stories
An evening exploring the history of New York songwriting – from Tin Pan Alley and the Brill Building through to Greenwich Village, CBGB and downtown Manhattan.
Performed by Melbourne musician and songwriter Victor Stranges, New York Stories unfolds across an extended acoustic performance tracing the artists, songs and cultural movements that helped shape modern popular music across nearly a century of New York history.
The evening journeys through the worlds of Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, Doc Pomus, Carole King and Paul Simon through to Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Television, Blondie, Mink DeVille, Ramones, Talking Heads and Beastie Boys, with songs reinterpreted acoustically alongside stories connecting the writers, scenes and eras that produced them.
Blending live performance, storytelling and acoustic reinterpretation, New York Stories brings together songs from radically different generations of New York artists, occasionally weaving material into medleys that link scenes, influences and eras across the city’s musical history.

Melbourne, Australia — Saturday July 11 — Melbourne sonic troubadours Penny Ikinger and Sean Simmons come together for a special double-headline matinee performance, High and Dry in July, at the intimate surrounds of George Lane in St Kilda.
The pair first crossed paths more than twenty years ago while performing in a medieval bar in France, where they bonded over sonnets of love, loss, desperation and redemption, unorthodox guitar playing, and a shared appreciation of French wine. Now they reunite for an exclusive afternoon designed to warm the cockles of hearts in the depths of winter.

In the summer of ’16 or ’67 or ’83 depending on which sources you believe, Hank Holistic, Leroy St Chapeax, Jonny Crash and Cletus Van Zandt met at a rehab facility in Tallahassee Florida. Sharing a common interest in addiction, Hank, Leroy, Jonny Crash and Cletus Van Zandt forged a bond with their common love of the same woman (Stormy) and a love of writing Country/punk music. Drunkle was born and their songs have been stolen and covered by many artists over the years who have gone on the become famous.
Drunkle are a Melbourne cowpunk 4 piece playing the all songs you know in the key of country, western, punk, blues and polka. This’ll be a fun night! It’s one of the only original bands where you’ll know every single song they play even if you haven’t seen them before.

Waz e James Band (Feat. Andrew Pendlebury – The Sports)
Waz E James is a respected Melbourne-based Alt-Country and Americana singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been performing professionally since the late 1970s. His music has received international airplay across the US, UK and Europe, with acclaimed producer John Beland describing him as “one of Australia’s best kept secrets.” He continues to perform regularly in Melbourne, including a long-standing residency in St Kilda.
Andrew Scott Pendlebury (born 1952) is an Australian guitarist-songwriter. From 1977 to 1981 was a member of The Sports (with Stephen Cummings) and from 1986 to 1988 he joined Slaughtermen (with Ian Stephen). He has undertaken other projects and issued four solo albums. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1993, Pendlebury’s solo work, Don’t Hold Back That Feeling, won Best Adult Contemporary Album. In 1999 Australian rock music historian, Ian McFarlane, described Pendlebury as having “pursued a career that garnered him much critical acclaim, but little in the way of mainstream success.

The Tonalists
The Tonalists are a 3-piece outfit from Melbourne, playing a soul blues inspired repertoire, inventively morphed to fit their line up of Hammond organ, pianos, guitar, lap steel, vocals and drums.
The band formed in 2019 between friends and former members of Long Black Limousine, Mick Coll (keyboards and vocals), Jason Kain (guitars) and Nigel Wright (drums and vocals). A point of difference from the classic Hammond trio concept was the addition of acoustic and electric piano, slide guitar and lap steel to broaden the tonal range. Before too long Tom Williams and Christian Foyle added trombone and saxophone respectively to the line up, bringing power and dynamics to the overall sound, and enriching the harmonic layering with vocals as well as brass.

From his influential work with Tex, Don & Charlie, Beasts of Bourbon, and The New Christs, to his powerful collaborations with Louis Tillett, Paul Kelly, Tendrils, and Working Class Ringos, Charlie has continually pushed the boundaries of his craft while captivating listeners with performances that are as ferocious as they are tender.

Mike Rudd (Spectrum) + Tim Gaze (George Lane Matinee Sessions)
Folks! A double bill for the ages! An incredible show awaits as Mike Rudd arrives in town to play a select number of intimate gigs in Melbourne. Joining Mike is very special guest and long-time associate Tim Gaze.
Mike Rudd, best known for his work with Spectrum and that undeniably classic Australian #1 song I’ll Be Gone which became one of the most enduring songs of that era and still heard on the radio today.
He has gone on to front metamorphosis of Spectrum in Indelible Murtceps and also Ariel where they found chart and commercial success again with ‘Jamaican Farewell’.
These days, Mike sees playing ‘solo’ with George Butrumlis as an opportunity to tackle songs that, for one reason or another, don’t get played in the group setting. Outrageous songs like ‘Excuse Me Just One Moment’ from Murtceps’ Warts Up your Nose album and Confessions of a Psychopathic Cowpoke, from Ariel’s ‘A Strange Fantastic Dream ‘ album, which of course was famously banned from airplay on the album’s release.
Opening the evening will be the one and only Tim Gaze who has trailblazed a lifetime of music including time with Tamam Shud during and post seminal Morning of the Earth surf film era & breakaway band, Kahvas Jute.

Taxiride Feat. TTSAR
October 18th 1999 saw the Australian release of Taxiride’s debut album ‘Imaginate’ off the back of successful singles ‘Get Set’ and ‘Everywhere You Go’. It debuted at Number 1 on the Australian Album Charts notoriously dethroning Shania Twain’s ‘Come On Over’ after it’s 20 week run at the top.
‘Get Set’ featured on the ‘Election’ movie soundtrack and achieved Top 40 status in the United States and also won the band an ARIA award back home.
‘Imaginate’ went double platinum in Australia and was released throughout Europe, Asia, and North America with subsequent tours in those regions.
Taxiride’s second album ‘Garage Mahal’ debuted at number 5 and spawned the singles ‘How I Got This Way’, ‘Afterglow’ and the ubiqutous ‘Creepin’ Up Slowly’ which won PPCA’s Most Played Song On Australian Radio award for 2002.
