This Cotes du Rhone is an absolute favourite.
I describe it to customers as a rustic style with earthy characters.
This vintage is a blend of 85% Garnacha, 10% Shiraz, 5% Cinsault.
The deep ruby red wine glows with every swirl of the glass.
On the nose plum, blackcurrant, oak, hints of tobacco, dark cherry, liquorice. In the mouth the full bodied, light acidity, and tannins make for a delicious earthy dry finish.
This is what I would call an honest wine, not flash, no wine making tricks, just a good honest wine that delivers drinking enjoyment every vintage.
