Dolly and ABBA Take Over Fitzroy Street in Two Big Tribute Productions

St Kilda is getting a double dose of musical nostalgia, with two new tribute productions heading to Fitzroy St Theatre over the coming months.

First up is ABBA Cirque Tribute, opening on 15 October, followed by Dolly’s Christmas Miracle – A Heavenly Musical Tribute, which opens on 26 November.

Both productions promise familiar songs, big-hearted entertainment and plenty of reasons to gather a group and make a night of it in Fitzroy Street.

ABBA Cirque Tribute brings the disco era back to life

There are few pop catalogues capable of filling a room quite like ABBA’s, and the new ABBA Cirque Tribute is built around some of the Swedish supergroup’s most recognisable songs.

Audiences can expect favourites including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, The Winner Takes It All, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Waterloo and Voulez-Vous.

The production promises to reimagine the music through a new cirque-style stage show, combining the familiar sound of ABBA with a more theatrical live experience.

ABBA Cirque Tribute opens 15 October.

An exclusive ticket offer is also currently available, with audiences able to use the code FAM20 at checkout to save 20 per cent on tickets for a limited time.

A Christmas tribute to Dolly Parton

Then in November, the theatre turns its attention to one of country music’s most enduring performers with Dolly’s Christmas Miracle – A Heavenly Musical Tribute.

The show draws on songs spanning Dolly Parton’s long career, from the deeply personal Coat of Many Colors to the instantly recognisable 9 to 5, Jolene, Here You Come Again and I Will Always Love You.

Also featured are songs including Light of a Clear Blue Morning and He’s Alive, alongside festive favourites such as Hard Candy Christmas, Circle of Love and Christmas on the Square.

The production is pitched as more than a collection of hits, celebrating the stories and themes that have run throughout Parton’s music — family, faith, friendship, kindness and resilience.

Dolly’s Christmas Miracle opens 26 November.

Group bookings are also being encouraged, with every tenth ticket free under the current group offer.

Two very different musical worlds, one St Kilda stage

From Swedish disco-pop to the songwriting of one of Nashville’s most famous figures, the two productions give St Kilda audiences a pair of unabashedly nostalgic nights out.

And with the Fitzroy St Theatre sitting right in the heart of St Kilda, they also add another couple of reasons to head back into Fitzroy Street for an evening of live entertainment.
