Sixpence None the Richer is an alternative rock band known for its distinctive blend of indie-rock melody and introspective songwriting. Sixpence’s major hit Kiss Me spent 3 weeks at #1 in Australia in June 1999, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and became a top-10 hit in sixteen countries. Additional global hits followed with There She Goes, Breathe Your Name, and their cover of Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over.
Sixpence None The Richer‘s sound remains anchored in founding member Leigh Nash’s unmistakable vocals and Matt Slocum’s intricate guitar work. The band’s live performances are filled with guitar riffs, pounding drums, and sophisticated melodies.
With a discography spanning nine global album releases, including their platinum Sixpence None The Richer, and three albums released in 2024 and 2025 (Rosemary Hill, The Dawn Of Grace, and Live At Gruene Hall), the band is headed to Australia stronger than ever. Lead singer Leigh Nash shares her excitement, saying, “I want to come out swinging.”
Kiss Me continues to grow in popularity, recently surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify with more than a third of those occurring in the past year alone. The song frequently appears in Shazam’s weekly U.S. Top 200, is a regular viral moment on TikTok, and remains a staple in film and television worldwide. In July 2024, Kiss Me was certified triple platinum by the RIAA, marking a remarkable resurgence; it went double platinum in 2023, following its initial 1999 platinum certification.
Sixpence None the Richer has earned two Grammy Award nominations, multiple Dove Awards, and accolades such as “Top Soundtrack Single” at the Billboard Music Awards and “Best Song” at the Young Hollywood Awards. Their rendition of There She Goes by The La’s was also recognised as a BMI Pop Awards Top Song in 2001.
Reflecting on the band’s resurgence, Nash shares, “We’ve only gotten better at all of our crafts, our specific things that we do. So why would we stop? And that’s the encouragement… I like where I am right now, just as a human being, a mother, in my forties now. It’s weird. It’s kinda crazy. It’s a little off-balance, but it’s inspiring.”
Formed in 1992 by Slocum and Nash in New Braunfels, Texas, Sixpence None the Richer reunited in 2024 with original members and embarked on their first tour in nearly 20 years, performing in 50 cities across the U.S. and selling out iconic venues in Chicago, Nashville, New York, Washington, D.C., Santa Ana, West Hollywood, New Braunfels, Raleigh, and many more.
That same year, they released Rosemary Hill, their first new music since 2012. Paste Magazine praised the EP, writing, “Sixpence… are back and as catchy as ever. Rosemary Hill takes the band’s rock roots and pairs them with a bit of twangy, alt-tinged distortion.”
2025 saw the band touring internationally throughout Latin America, as well as joining Toad the Wet Sprocket and the Jayhawks on a U.S. Summer Tour. And 2026 will take them on their first-ever European tour, covering 24 cities.

Ella Hooper burst onto the scene as the frontwoman of rock band ‘Killing Heidi’. With their first single – the stark, folk-grunge ballad, ‘Kettle’ – receiving national airplay when Ella was just 13, the signs were clear: this was no ordinary artistic trajectory.
Ella was the first-ever woman and youngest person to be awarded APRA’s Songwriter of the Year award.
