Boston-based punk rockers Linnea’s Garden are ready to conquer the world with righteous vengeance, as they return with their catchy new single ‘Stop Codon’!

When it comes to the meaning behind ‘Stop Codon’, lead singer and band founder Linnea Herzog reveals how “I felt fed up with people who are always in crisis mode to get attention. ‘Stop Codon’ is like an off switch for your DNA. ‘Stop Codon’ is a metaphor for cutting off bad habits, toxic thought patterns, and exercising free will. Only you can release your own personal weight of the world.

The musical origin to ‘Stop Codon’ came together in the most natural and organic way, as Linnea explains its beginning “My bass player threw me a killer riff and the song came together in one late-night jam session.”

This ambitious new chapter will be supported by a single release show in Boston, and then a Southwest US Tour in March. Linnea’s Garden have been confirmed for SXSW in Austin, with a slot at It’s a Van Fest between March 12-18th, simply establishing that this is a band you do not want to miss out on! This is their biggest year yet.

Linnea’s Garden plays punk rock you can dance to. Their music and live performance channels ’70s punk, riot grrrl, and goth, with a mission to inject energy and destroy expectations through a queer femme lens.

The Boston-based trio is led by Linnea on guitar and lead vocals. Since forming in 2020, they have toured across 18+ states, released four records, and achieved international airplay.

Their 2021 debut EP ‘Nowhere Friday Nights’ was born out of late-night jam sessions that salvaged a pandemic summer. The EP challenges listeners’ expectations with “consistently catchy and subversive takes on power pop and punk” (Nat Marlin, Allston Pudding).

In April 2022, Linnea’s Garden released their full-length album ‘Fashion Show’ on Red on Red Records. It’s 13 tracks of “disco dressed down in gutter glam” (Jed Gottlieb, Boston Herald). The single ‘Cut & Paste’ was one of Bill Kelly’s Personal Picks on Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World on SiriusXM, and Linnea’s Garden were nominated for Punk Act of the Year at the Boston Music Awards.

With 2023’s follow-up record ‘Mirrors’, Linnea’s Garden became more grounded than they have ever been before. The record contains ‘Pathological Liar’ a pop-punk banger with a “serious sonic punch” (Rob Duguay, Medium). It covers how sometimes the right relationship – and your best life – is hiding in plain sight.

Their 2024 EP, ‘Looking Forward to the Moment’, is a celebration of staying true to yourself. ‘Chaotic Bisexual Summer’ was the record’s lead single, and it coincided with the band’s first Midwest tour.

Beyond ‘Stop Codon’ their creative journey will continue at full speed with a new EP entitled ‘Get Heard’.

‘Stop Codon’ is available via streaming platforms on March 6th!
