Tash Sultana Announces Intimate Australia & New Zealand Tour for 2027

Tash Sultana is coming home, announcing an intimate seven-date Australia and New Zealand tour for April and May 2027 — alongside a new single, a new live show and what promises to be another fascinating chapter in one of Australia’s great self-made music stories.

Presented by MG Live and Frontier Touring, the tour will begin in New Zealand with shows in Auckland and Wellington before crossing the Tasman for performances in Thirroul, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

For an artist accustomed to commanding major festival stages and vast international venues, these shows are being pitched as something deliberately closer and more personal.

And Tash isn’t being shy about the demand expected.

From Melbourne streets to the world

It’s been an extraordinary journey.

Tash Sultana emerged from Melbourne’s busking scene with a completely individual approach to live performance — building songs layer by layer through looping, guitar, percussion, vocals and an ever-expanding arsenal of instruments.

A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer, Tash can play more than 20 instruments and possesses a remarkable five-octave vocal range.

Over the decade since those street performances began attracting attention, Tash has gone on to amass billions of streams, sell more than a million tickets and perform at major festivals and venues around the world.

Their live performance videos became an important part of the story too, attracting hundreds of millions of views and introducing audiences internationally to the extraordinary one-person musical architecture Tash could build in real time.

Something In The Water

The 2027 tour arrives as Tash enters another creative period, led by the release of new single Something In The Water, out now through BMG Australia.

Built around warm guitar, an unhurried groove and vocals moving from restrained and soulful into full power, the track reconnects with the sound and instinctive musicianship that first made Tash such a compelling artist.

But the song also comes from a period of significant personal and creative change.

Tash explains:

“For a little while, I lost my way. I had to step back, strip everything away and find the road home to myself. Over the past year and a half, my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined.”

They describe the new music as a process of letting go — of old relationships, earlier versions of themselves and assumptions about where their career was supposed to go.

“The past is the past. This is the sound of releasing it — and stepping into whatever comes next.”

The single accompanies a broader new era for Tash, including new global management and agency partnerships and a recording deal with BMG.

A formidable live history

Tash Sultana’s reputation has always been particularly tied to the stage.

Australian attendance records have been broken at venues including Margaret Court Arena and the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, while internationally Tash has headlined major venues including Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.

Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre has also become part of the Tash story, with shows there selling out in just five minutes on three separate occasions.

Along the way, Tash has worked or collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists including Anderson .Paak, The Free Nationals, Teddy Swims, Bonobo, Matt Corby, Milky Chance, City and Colour, SIX60, L.A.B., The Chainsmokers, FLETCHER and Snoop Dogg.
