I’ve booked many editions of Bluesfest, but 2025, well, this one was something else.

From the moment the gates opened on Wednesday for the campers concert, we felt it: the love, the energy, and the sheer joy of tens of thousands of people coming together to celebrate the power of live music.

We said this might be the last Bluesfest, but you changed that. Over 109,000 of you walked through our gates, making Bluesfest 2025 the biggest we’ve seen in years, and the third-largest event in our history. Your support didn’t just show up, it shouted loud and clear: this festival matters.

There were so many highlights, it’s near impossible to name them all.

We saw unforgettable sets from Chaka Khan, Tom Morello, TOTO, Gary Clark Jr., Crowded House, Vance Joy, Missy Higgins, Hilltop Hoods, and so many more.

Friday delivered one of the greatest days of guitar in Bluesfest history, Steve Lukather (TOTO), George Thorogood, Tom Morello, Kingfish, Gary Clark Jr., Taj Farrant and more all lighting up the stages in back-to-back brilliance.

We celebrated the future too. Tones and I returned to the festival she once busked at—now as a star of the main stage. 14-year-old Torin Peat, our Busking Grommets winner, and emerging indigenous artist Birren, winner of the Adult competition, were just two examples of why we believe in the next generation of Australian music.

Moments that stayed with us? Watching Kasey Chambers join Vance Joy, Taj Farrant shredding Voodoo Chile with Electric Cadillac from Jakarta, and Ash Grunwald’s daughter Sunny taking to the stage for an unforgettable duet. These are the kinds of collaborations and stories that make Bluesfest unlike any other festival in the country.

And then there were the exclusive shows—Cimafunk, Here Come The Mummies, Melody Angel, Neal Francis, and The California Honeydrops, artists you could only see right here in Byron Bay.

Behind the scenes, we know there were challenges too, and we’re already working on ways to improve for 2026. But through it all, your support, spirit, and feedback have meant everything to us.

So, on behalf of the entire Bluesfest team, thank you—for believing in us, for showing up, and for reminding us why we do this.

Bluesfest 2026 is officially ON.
