September to October: 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup
The 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup will be held in Sydney from 22 September to 1 October, 2022. This will be the first time the tournament will be held in Australia, and it is sure to be an exciting event. Some of the world’s best female basketball players, the top 12 women’s national teams worldwide, will compete for the world championship.
The event will take place in the Sydney SuperDome and Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre in the renowned sporting and entertainment district of Sydney Olympic Park. The event is returning to Australian soil for the first time since 1994. September: IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney
IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney will return to Penrith’s International Regatta Center on 25 September 2022. The swimming course takes place in the protected Penrith Lakes at the International Regatta Centre, right at the Blue Mountains’ foot. Awe-inspiring views of the Blue Mountains may be found along the biking route.
As one of the most-awaited sporting events in Sydney, the organisers will offer a Half IRONMAN distance triathlon consisting of a 1.9-kilometre swim, a 90-kilometre bike and a 21.1-kilometre run. There will also be an IRONMAN 70.3 distance relay for teams of two or three athletes.
October: NRL Grand Final
The NRL Grand Final is the pinnacle of rugby league in Australia and one of the country’s biggest sporting events.
