Interview – Dace Silina

With her new single “Love Sound,” the rising artist introduces a vibrant blend of heartfelt emotion and danceable pop energy. Inspired by a lifelong passion for singing and shaped by early moments performing for mountaintops instead of crowds, her music feels both intimate and expansive. In this interview, she reflects on the journey from childhood dreams to her first major release, the creative process behind “Love Sound,” and the vision she’s building for the future.

When did you first realize you wanted to pursue music professionally?

Being a singer has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I don’t even remember my age. It was in early childhood.

How did your early experiences singing in nature shape your vocal style?

It’s hard for me to say whether it influenced my musical or vocal style. Nature gave me energy and creativity. It was easier for me to express myself in nature than in front of people. Mountaintops were sometimes my stage.

What was the first line or idea that sparked “Love Sound”?

The idea was based on the emotions of love. I wrote the first chorus and then the rest of the lines gradually followed.

How did you approach writing lyrics that resonate universally?

I write according to my feelings and so that I like it myself. I think it’s important that the lyrics are understandable to everyone. And to ensure the message remains heartfelt, accessible, and relatable to a global audience.

How has your vocal training influenced your creative process?

Vocal training developed my voice. During the training, I understood and practiced all the vocal styles and effects on myself. Training made my voice much richer and more effective.

What was it like collaborating with Gints Stankevics for the first time?

I first collaborated with Gints about 6 years ago, when I recorded a song for a vocal competition in his studio. I really liked the result and our collaboration continues.

How did you ensure “Love Sound” remained fully authentic and organic?

This song could have been produced in different ways. But I wanted the emotions to be together with the rhythm. So that everyone can dance to it without losing the songs true message.

Which songs or artists inspired the sound and mood of your debut single?

The lyrics were influenced only by me. Also, the harmony of the song came naturally, without trying to imitate others. But when I sent the song material to the producer, I sent 2 songs – I said that I wanted something between these songs. These songs were Tate McRae – Sports Car and Avalan Roxton – Something To Believe In.

How do you handle the pressure of releasing your first major work?

I like to be active and solve things, especially when it involves me. I don’t feel any pressure yet. Maybe I will later 🙂

What emotions or messages are most important for you to convey in your music?

I like to express beautiful and deep emotions. No matter how difficult life’s paths may be sometimes.

How do you balance musical experimentation with pop sensibilities?

I like to experiment with music, but I keep everything in balance.

What’s one lesson you learned while creating this single that you’ll carry forward?

Every detail in the creation of a song is important. The main thing is that I am satisfied with the result. If I am not satisfied, then I and the team have to continue working.

How do you see your music evolving over the next few years?

There are several factors that can influence it. The main thing for me is to be active and be able to find ideas and inspiration for new songs.

What do you want fans to feel when they listen to “Love Sound” for the first time?

Not everyone will have the same impression and it would be interesting to hear that from the listeners. The main thing is that they like it!

If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be and why?

There are a lot of singers out there who are extremely talented. I would be happy to collaborate with many of them. It would be a big leap for my experience and popularity. I’ll list some who I would absolutely love to work with: TheWeeknd, Bruno Mars, Sia, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion.
