Sometimes the biggest opportunities in music come from the smallest gestures. For Scenius, it was one email.

The French-English duo have joined Midge Ure on a sprawling UK tour that began in Bath on May 8 and runs through to June 5, taking in landmark venues across Manchester, Glasgow, London, Bradford and more.
For a band still building its audience independently, landing a full 21-date support slot with one of Britain’s most influential synth-pop figures marks a serious leap forward, and they made it happen themselves.
Rather than waiting for industry gatekeepers to come calling, Scenius approached the tour team directly. The gamble paid off almost immediately, securing them a place on a bill that bridges decades of electronic music history.
“We’re incredibly honoured to be part of this tour,” the band said. “Midge Ure’s work has had a lasting impact on generations of artists, including ourselves. To share the stage with him is both humbling and exciting.”
That DIY determination has long been part of Scenius’ identity. Formed by Steve Whitfield and Fabrice Nau, the duo occupies a rich space between post-punk textures and synth-driven experimentation.
There’s texture and imperfection in their music, and these qualities feel increasingly rare in an era of hyper-polished production.
Whitfield’s past work alongside The Cure and Jah Wobble adds further pedigree, but Scenius doesn’t trade on nostalgia. If anything, their current momentum feels rooted firmly in the present.
The tour also arrives alongside new material. Released just before the opening date, ‘Five-Arm Crystal (sixth-arm mix)’ pushes the audacious musicians deeper into darker, club-driven territory, powered by a dense synth bassline and sharper electronic edges. The track is available across all streaming platforms.
Now, night after night, Scenius is bringing that unpredictability to audiences across the UK, proving that sometimes all it takes is asking the question.
