Hugo Race & Michelangelo Russo at the St Kilda Bowlo, Fitzroy Street, St Kilda, Sunday February 23rd 2025, 6pm. Special guest – Cam Butler (solo)
Following a spectacular European tour Hugo Race & Michelangelo Russo tour Australia performing their new ‘100 Years’ album (out now on Gusstaff/MGM).
“Hugo Race/Michelangelo Russo is a dynamic duo that delivers a unique blend of experimental blues and electronica. Hugo Race, an Australian-born musician and producer, brings his haunting vocals and intricate guitar work to the table, while Michelangelo Russo, an Italian multi-instrumentalist, adds layers of psychedelic sounds with his electric harp and percussion skills. Together, they create a mesmerizing fusion of traditional blues elements with contemporary electronic beats, taking listeners on a sonic journey through different eras and genres. Their performances are known for their improvisational nature, making each show a one-of-a-kind experience. Hugo Race/Michelangelo Russo truly push the boundaries of what can be achieved in the realm of music.”

Out on Hugo Race’s Patreon in February, the Spanish feature film The Restoration. Not yet commercially released, The Restoration is available here for subscribers, a beautifully made art film from Spanish director David Mateo “evoking the fragility of memory and the shattering plunge into the unconscious when memory fails. Making The Restoration was a deep journey into the human psyche for all of us. One day I hope you get the chance to see this film. Its not an easy watch, the themes are harrowing, but there’s an essential beauty inside that I feel we managed to convey.”
