This workshop is designed for anyone involved in preparing exhibition labels for a small museum or gallery. The event will be facilitated by Powerhouse editors Sally Rose and Katrina O’Brien who will share their knowledge and insights into preparing labels for exhibitions and displays. The facilitators will provide practical examples, exercises and take-home notes.
This event is designed for staff and volunteers working in smaller museums and the collecting sector. The session will conclude with a 1-hour tour, led by a museum registrar, of one of our storage areas.

Join curator Sarah Rees in conversation with artist Anna May Kirk whose work is currently on display in the Eucalyptusdom exhibition at the Powerhouse.
In this 45-minute webinar they will discuss Anna May’s art practice, including her influences, evocative use of materials.

Have you ever wondered how a museum with half a million objects manages its collection? From hairpins to horse-drawn vehicles, the Powerhouse registration team are responsible for the acquisition, documentation and ongoing management of a diverse collection of objects.
This workshop, led by Powerhouse registrar Yasmin Green, will introduce participants to the museum’s best practice approach to caring for the collection — with a focus on acquisition processes, object cataloguing and legal documentation.
