Daniela’s ready to rock

She’s back.

Western suburbs singer-songwriter Daniela Corso is firing up for her first live performance in nearly 10 years.

After an extended break to look after her special needs son, the Werribee songstress with the booming voice is writing and recording new songs, and ready for her comeback show at The Palace Hotel in Camberwell this Saturday, May 6.

Backed by Screaming Jets’ Paul Woseen (bass), Mark McLeod (drums) and former Catwitch guitarist Lawrence Rhoads, she’ll showcase new songs including Part Of Us, out now on all streaming platforms.

“This song has a country feel to it,” says Corso, who recorded it with longtime collaborator Michael Zammit in his Altona studio. She hopes new material like this will land her a spot at Tamworth’s famous music festival.

But that doesn’t mean she’ll abandon her love of full-on rock and roll, as her audience will discover in the Palace gig promoted by Anthem Entertainment and Touring.

“I wrote this song (Part Of Us) because we all have a part of us that keeps us going. It’s about the things in life that lift us and ignite our fire,” she says.

When she’s not busy being a suburban mum, Daniela Corso is generous with the time she gives to charities. After breast cancer claimed the life of a friend, she wrote and recorded a song to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness.

She also persuaded Monique Brumby and Rob Farnham (son of John) to join her in a big fund-raising concert in Williamstown for the Les Twentyman Foundation and kids at risk a few years ago.

PART OF US (lyrics)
Think about what you’ve been told
Think about what you’ve been hearing all this time
Think about growing old
Think about the meaning of all those rhymes

The moment when you’ve given up
You walk
You breathe
It’s not enough
You lift
Lift into love

It’s the part of us
keeps us alive
It’s the part of us
feel it deep inside
It’s the part
keeps us alive
It’s the part
It ignites the fire

Listen to the beat of time
Listen to the wind and chimes
They have no road
There’s a freedom in not knowing
what the future holds
I’m telling you
Only God knows

The moments when you’ve given up
You walk
You breathe
It’s not enough
You lift
Lift into love

oh

It’s the part of us
keeps us alive
It’s the part of us
feel it deep inside
It’s the part
keeps us alive
It’s the part
It ignites the fire

The moment when you’ve given up
You walk
You breathe
It’s not enough
You lift
Lift into love

ooohhh

The more it feels you’ve given up
You walk
You breathe
It’s not enough
You lift
Lift into love

It’s the part of us
keeps us alive
It’s the part of us
You feel it deep inside
It’s the part
It keeps us alive

It’s the part of us
keeps us alive
It’s the part of us
You feel it deep inside
It’s the part
It keeps us alive
It’s the part of us yeah
It Ignites the fire
part of us
it ignites the fire
oohh
the part of us
