    XANI + VAUDREY DECEMBER RESIDENCY

Cap off your 2018 with some lush contemporary strings music throughout December.

Back in April, I did a special show in the Salon at Melbourne Recital Centre performing with cellist, VAUDREY (check out what we did over here). Well, we’re back at it again in the most epic of residencies on December 7th, 14th and 21st. Featuring some of Melbourne’s (and beyond) most talented contemporary string players, you can catch two concerts each Friday night exploring the different ways stringed instruments are used to make songs. Check out the line-up below and be sure to book your tickets early as there are only thirty seats at the venue (Longplay).

    M.A.S (Melbourne Amplified Strings)

I’m thrilled to announce that together with Biddy Connor (viola) and Anita Quayle (cello), we have created a new ensemble called M.A.S celebrating and exploring amplified string playing, electronic effects and composition with special guest artists.

Next year we will present our Pilot Series including four different concerts featuring different special guests. Our first concert is on March 18th with Wiradjuri Soprano, Shauntai Batzke exploring themes of identity and global wanderlust in the beautiful Salon space at Melbourne Recital Centre. I am very excited about this new project and we have already begun rehearsing and experimenting.

You can hear a snippet of what next year will be like at our Longplay show on December 14th at 7pm and if you’d like to help us on our way, please consider donating to our Australian Cultural Fund project. All money raised will go into our Pilot Series including paying our guest artists for their generosity of being involved. > donate now
