Leicester-based four-piece The Harbours make a confident debut with ‘Are We Nearly There Yet?’, a five-track EP brimming with energetic guitar hooks, festival-sized choruses, and unmistakable indie-pop charm.
Formed in 2024 and led by Ollie Drakard and Will Massarella-Tyler, the band have quickly gained momentum across the UK, landing BBC Introducing support and performing from grassroots venues to festival stages. Tracks like the soaring ‘Scarlet (Boys That Sing)’ and the punchy ‘Live It Up’ have already made regional airwaves, earning ‘Song of the Week’ nods and early fan acclaim.
Stylistically, The Harbours wear their influences proudly — channeling the buoyant rhythms of Two Door Cinema Club, The Kooks, and The Wombats, while adding a fresh, youthful urgency. ‘What Are We Running For?’ leads the pack with shimmering melodies and tightly layered guitars, evoking the golden age of early 2010s indie.
Elsewhere, ‘Scarlet’ delivers a euphoric, danceable edge, calling to mind Klaxons or KAWALA at their most anthemic. Throughout the EP, the band balances emotional resonance with infectious songwriting, inviting listeners to find their own meaning within the lyrics.
With ‘Are We Nearly There Yet?’, The Harbours arrive not as hopeful newcomers, but as a band already capable of headline-ready moments. As their momentum builds, 2025 could well be their breakout year.
