NaturoSynth unleash their unique experimental pop sound in new EP ‘Does This Last?’

The innovative Indian-American group NaturoSynth is making waves with their brand-new EP, Does This Last?, set to redefine the boundaries of alternative pop. Since their inception in 2019, the Chicagoland band — comprising writer, multi-instrumentalists, and producers Arjun Gopal and Kieran Gopal, along with live band members Pranav Joshi, Arjun Shamaraya and Michael Plumridge — has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of funky, psychedelic, and alternative-pop music.

Their journey has been nothing short of dynamic, with their debut single, ‘Headphones On’, marking a major milestone by becoming their most viral TikTok hit to date. This success spurred a significant surge in their listener base, setting the stage for their highly anticipated EP.

Does This Last? offers an immersive six-track exploration into NaturoSynth’s distinctive sonic universe. Building on the momentum of previously released singles — ‘Headphones On’, ‘Fear of Regret’, and “Dance Destiny”— the EP introduces three new tracks that further showcase the band’s creative evolution. “Headphones On” serves as a quintessential introduction to their style, blending rhythmic funky synth-pop with an unmistakable 80s vibe, making it a standout track.

Lead single ‘Feel It More’ though, epitomises NaturoSynth’s signature sound. It begins with a mesmerising soundscape of synthesisers and melodic lines, transitioning into an exhilarating summer alternative pop anthem. The track’s euphoric and intoxicating qualities capture the essence of NaturoSynth’s music, offering an irresistible addition to any pop lover’s playlist.

They share “At the core, this project is a pop EP. But we wanted every track to provide a new unique flavour, with each song being a fusion of genres we haven’t explored before. We just wanted to make fresh exciting music.”

This approach is evident throughout the EP, which seamlessly incorporates elements of hip-hop, reggae, and psychedelic rock, all while staying true to NaturoSynth’s alternative pop roots.

Thematically, Does This Last? delves into the complexity of human emotions — each track reflecting a different feeling that might seem overwhelming or everlasting in the moment. It’s a journey of perseverance and emotional embrace, wrapped in the band’s innovative soundscapes.

With its genre-blending creativity and dynamic production, Does This Last? positions NaturoSynth as a truly exciting force in the alternative pop scene. As they continue to push the boundaries of their music, NaturoSynth is undoubtedly a band to watch closely in 2024.
