In the glass, the wine is dark almost to the point of being dense/black plum.
On the nose the wine shows rich/dense dried strawberry, rose petal, old leather, earth and road tar notes billowing up from the wide rim Cabernet glass.
All this flows through to the plate, this wine is strong and densely textured with a full spectrum of rich fruit showing savoury cherry, plumb tartness wrapped in earth and sweetish ripe McLaren Vale fruit.
Aged in new French oak, resulting in impressive purity, with intense fruit, and power, the fine dusty tannins complete the structure of this wine.
A wine made to stand out from the rest on the market.
I also believe the wine was made in the Amarone style. (the grapes dried for 6 weeks under controlled temperature and humidity) this will account for the intense fruit and power of the wine.

I enjoyed this wine with mushrooms topped with toasted pine nuts on Sautéed Swiss Chard with Parmesan mash.
Brooding & dense, are the only two descriptives, that I can give to this wine, along with being a very different Australian Cabernet Sauvignon!!
At six years old this wine is still young, with years ahead of it before reaching its drinking peak.
