Long gone are the days when we must commute to a physical office, sit down at a desk, toil away for hours, take coffee breaks in between, then repeat everything the very next day. With the advances of modern technology right at our fingertips, you can work anywhere and anytime just as long as you have Wi-Fi. You can take your off road hybrid camper to the nature preserves, to the cliffs, to the beach, to surfing havens, and you can still earn and get paid with your laptop. Don’t know where to start? Here are a few things to remember when setting up your luxury van:

  • The camper will take over your lifestyle – If this is your first time living the camping caravan life, understand that you will need to make adjustments to your daily routine. The kind of space and movement that you’re used to in your apartment or house will be vastly different from how you move and go about your chores or tasks inside your caravan. Just know that this is normal and will take some getting used to.
  • The camper should have its own reliable Internet – Install a dual modem router along with a strong roof mount so that you won’t have to worry about having stable internet while working from your RV camper. Once you’ve done this, it will be that much easier to work on the road while touring across Australia. You can keep up with your virtual assistant tasks, troubleshoot, produce content for clients, design logos and webpages, edit and copywrite for your partners, and all manner of tasks that can be done virtually.
  • Look for a model with a modern kitchen and bath – The main feature in your campervan should be its interior, specifically its features for the kitchen and bath or shower space. Go ahead and choose luxuriously appointed hybrid vans that come with an internal shower and toilet plus ample kitchen space for cooking and cold storage of food. Yes, your Opus hybrid caravan may come with its own built-in shower and refrigerator features. If this isn’t the peak of camper luxury, we don’t know what is.
  • Find comfortable amenities in your van – It truly is possible to live like you’re on vacation but keep on working and earning money. Just with your laptop and good internet connection, you can still work right inside the comfort of your hybrid caravan. Just make sure that there are comfortable features inside your vehicle, such as a king-sized bed, plenty of storage for your books and things, a generous living space for seating, bunk bed options for your guests, and of course, natural light sources through ceiling lights and windows.
  • Choose a model that’s easy to deploy – Once you arrive at your chosen spot, like the Misty Mountain in NSW, Coffs Harbour Camping and 4WD in NSW, Tumut River in NSW, River Run Farm in QLD, or Jarvis Estate Winery and Camping in WA, just to name a few, you definitely want to make the most of your time while there. It’s certainly better if your camper van is easy to dislodge, deploy and set up on the ideal spot for camping. This way you can set up your campfire right away, arrange your outdoor living space and bonfire equipment, cooking equipment, and others.
  • Add solar-powered batteries to keep your van powered on the go – This way you won’t have to worry if the camping site has accessible electricity. You can still have power even on the go with a portable solar system right on your camper van. You can opt for a 100Ah lithium battery to a 500-watt solar panel so that you can still charge your laptop and smartphone devices with ease. It also can’t hurt to have power on the go for times you need to use your microwave for a hot pocket.
  • Choose durability over style. It’s important to think about the make and model of the hybrid camper and not just the features and amenities that it offers. Remember that the Australian outback terrain can be a bit rough on vehicles, especially for one that’s constantly on the road. Find a model with a robust exterior and a specifically designed chassis so that the caravan will be able to keep up with your on-the-go adventures.

Right now is a great time to go on that trip of your dreams. You won’t have to sacrifice earning an income versus the opportunity to travel and see what Australia has to offer because now you can do both. Just choose the perfect hybrid camper that suits your needs and gear up for an adventure of a lifetime!
