> CAMERON McGREGOR
fwd: meet the artists of the 2016 linden postcard show (part 1)
Cameron McGregor has entered work into the Linden Postcard Show for a number of years.

This year, Cameron submitted a beautiful series of oil paintings depicting Australian parrots, as immortalised by Tuckfield’s Tea Australiana Birds Series collector cards that appeared in packs of the popular Australian tea in the 1950’s.

A special childhood memory returned to Cameron when he discovered a set of the Tuckfield’s collector cards in an antique store in Bendigo a few years ago. He remembered attending his neighbour’s home with his mother. While his mother and their neighbour shared a cuppa, his neighbour kindly entertained young Cameron with a collection of the Tuckfield’s bird cards.

Cameron enjoys painting birds, especially parrots, as he sees that their often-bright colours make them “exclamation points against the landscap
e”.

One of Cameron’s beautiful artworks was chosen by Linden Postcard Show sponsor Avant Card to become a free postcard available at Avant Card postcard stands everywhere!

Michelle Eattell has submitted three digital compositions to this year’ show.

Her colourful abstract works are all actually made using a variety of smartphone apps!

Michelle leads a busy professional life, but she didn’t want to let that stop her from creating her own artworks. Michelle’s works are a testament to her innovation and dedication!

Michelle attended the Young Ambassador’s Postcard Show Collector’s Preview event and won a $100 framing voucher from Linden Postcard Show sponsor Omnus Framing!

We know that Michelle will put this to very good use.

Renowned Sydney artist Joy Ivill is known for her cheeky contemporary needlework and painted artworks which celebrate often intimate and personal moments in the artist’s life.

Joy entered the Linden Postcard Show because “the idea of making a small format painting appealed to me greatly… I will enter again next year. I found the entries to be of a very high standard.”
