Female-fronted Swiss garage gang The Jackets release new album following sold-out Aus tour!

Wild Swiss garage psych punk trio The Jackets – fronted by enigmatic vocalist/guitarist Jackie Brutsche, she of the Love It To Deathstyle eye makeup – have just released the new collection Essentials on Portugal’s Chaputa Records, following their sold-out late Feb/early March first-ever Australian tour.

The album is a celebration of The Jackets’ 18-year band history and features their ten most defining songs alongside two brand-new recordings, “The Question” and “Rock & Roll Band”

Serving as an Introduction to the band on the back of their first Australian and New Zealand tour, the album is available on LP and digital download direct from Chaptuta’s Bandcamp, and local punters can also order vinyl direct from the band’s friends at Trash Cult Records & Books in Bendigo. Since 2008, The Jackets have been touring internationally with their distinctive blend of Garage Psych Punk music and attitude, performing across Europe, the UK, the USA, Japan, Mexico, and Canada, and now Australia and New Zealand. Known for their explosive live performances, infectious songs, and striking visual identity, The Jackets have earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most compelling live acts and are favourites at iconic garage and psych festivals including Toyko’s Back From The Grave Halloween Ball, Spain’s Funtastic Dracula Carnival and Seattle’s Freak Out Festival.

Founded by creative heads Jackie Brutsche and drummer Chris RosalesThe Jackets also feature bass player Omar Fra. Alongside their intense live presence, The Jackets have released five albums, several singles and multiple music videos.

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972. Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry.Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
