Huge guitar tones and raw, unguarded vocals define ‘The Game’, the new single from Yeovil, Somerset trio Dream Robbery, released 5th August 2026. Recorded at Mill Farm Studios and mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Shawn Joseph, the track forms part of a five-single collection that channels over a decade of the band’s creative chemistry into a fearless, emotionally direct body of work.
Written by the band’s frontman, a frontline 999 ambulance worker, in a single evening spent with a glass of whiskey, Spiritualized’s *Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space* on the record player and only an acoustic guitar and fountain pen for company, ‘The Game’ carries the weight of that moment intact. The band chose to record the track true to the sound of their instruments and vocals, resisting extra trimming or double tracking, and the result is a song that moves between freedom, memory, loss and the knowledge that everything eventually ends, built on the philosophical tension between the permanence of love and the temporary nature of life.

Officially formed in 2022 but built on chemistry honed over more than ten years, Dream Robbery draw on The Beta Band, John Martyn, Spiritualized, The Frames, Big Wreck and The Flat Duo Jets, and sit naturally alongside Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Verve, Spiritualized, The Stone Roses and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Amelia Vandergast of A&R Factory described the band as about to steal the scene, questioning who knew melancholy could sound so lush, while Jam in the Van praised the production, songwriting and vocal performance across the collection. A Spanish rock culture magazine pointed to the huge guitar tones and raw vocal energy running through the band’s work, alongside the influence of Spiritualized and Pink Floyd.
Having already played festival stages including Godney Gathering this year, Dream Robbery are heading to South Korea in October for a run of shows, with a return to the studio planned for 2027 alongside a new band member on synth and keys.
