Brinck is an artist who well and truly put herself on the map in 2022. The release of her debut EP ‘Here With Me’ accumulated her offering as an artist so far, and it’s one which all lovers of pop and beyond could get on board with.
She begins 2023 with a startling video release for ‘Wannabe’, my personal favourite from the EP. The video invites us all her into Brinck’s fantasy-esque world in Los Angeles, spotlighting her life as she recognises and learns more about herself as a person.
“I wrote wannabe about my experience first moving to LA and thinking I’m the shit. I was a goody two shoes straight out of Iowa and I thought I was going to be the next big thing the minute I got to LA. When in reality I hit a party phase, fell flat on my face and had virtually nothing going on. I had a hard time connecting with the other girls and people out here, everyone I met I thought “One day you’re gonna wanna be my friend one day, my girl”.
An honest and refreshing approach from an artist who has taken on heavier climbs and came out the other side. We love it.
