Belfast’s Survivalist Return With Ferocious New Album ‘A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone’

Belfast-based metal crossover outfit Survivalist are back with their most focused and ambitious release to date. Their new album, ‘A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone’ via Seek & Strike Records, marking the band’s first full-length in almost two years.

Known for blending groove-driven heaviness with melodic tension, Survivalist have spent the intervening years refining a sound they call Groovecore—a combination of crushing riffs, towering choruses, and climactic breakdowns delivered with precision and intent. The album explores themes of isolation, internal conflict, and the pressures of modern existence, offering both a visceral and intense listening experience.

The title track, which also serves as the album’s focus, exemplifies the band at their most disciplined. A fusion of genres, it pairs heft with rhythmic complexity and a chorus built for impact, while lyrically interrogating power, ego, and systemic authority. To accompany the track, Survivalist have released an official music video, pairing striking visuals and performance shots with the song’s tense, aggressive energy.

In addition to the title track, the album includes previously released singles ‘Deathbed’—featuring Alex Koehler (ex-Chelsea Grin / Ameonna)—‘Radio Bleed’, and ‘Failure Of Being’ (produced by Josh Sid Robinson). It also features a guest appearance from Kid Bookie, expanding the album’s sonic palette. Early support has come from outlets including Notion, Metal Hammer, Kerrang! Radio, Devolution Magazine, and New Noise Magazine, with streams already mounting.

Since their debut album VII in 2021, Survivalist have cemented themselves on the live circuit, sharing stages with heavyweights like Thy Art Is Murder, Chelsea Grin, Polaris, Suffocation, Atreyu, Kublai Khan, and more. Recent TV appearances on Channel 5, interviewed by Gaby Roslin and Ortis Deley, have helped introduce the band to a wider audience, bridging underground intensity with mainstream visibility.

With ‘A Place For Those Who Suffer, Alone’, Survivalist deliver a record that is both heavy and emotionally resonant, showcasing a band confident in their sound and vision. The album is available for streaming and download worldwide, while the band gear up to bring its weight and groove to stages across the UK and Ireland in 2026.
