Like most well-made Yarra Valley Chardonnays, they carry the hallmark bouquet of the valley.
Well for me at any rate, I find a cashew like warmth on the nose along with soft minerals and good acid in the mouth.
I will pick a Yarra Valley Chardonnay over most in the fridge in a bottle shop any day.
On the nose:
Citrus fruits lemon, lime with hints of cashew and the fresh smell of youth, a wine just starting to let you know where it’s heading.
In the mouth:
The lemon, lime with hints of cashew and a lean clear mineral line of acid runs the length of the wine. finishing with a round texture and a hint of complexity that will build with bottle age.
Offers good value
The Food:
I enjoyed this wine with a chilli prawn and green bean risotto.
The lemon, notes of the wine paired with the prawns and light chilly smack, have all the required and desirable elements, of a perfect food & wine pairing.
