This critically acclaimed show celebrates the songs and stories that pay tribute to the early music of Sun Records .You’re promised an unforgettable night as Sun Rising brilliantly interpret the timeless songs and legendary performances captured by pioneering sound engineer, Sam Phillips at his Sun Records recording studio in 1950’s.

Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbision, BB Kingthey all had one thing in common… they launched their careers at The Sun Recording Company.

About the Band

Sun Rising- The Songs That Made Memphis, is the brainchild of Damon Smith and David Cosma. 
The two set out to produce a show that pays homage to the greatest recording studio in the history of music, Sun Records in Memphis. 

Since its inception, the show has traveled Australia extensively, selling out across the country. 

You’ll hear world class performances of songs by Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Howlin’ Wolf and BB King amongst others. The performances are book ended with tales of Sam Phillips, the man who discovered all the artists in the show. 

Writers and musicians Damon Smith and David Cosma pay homage through this thrilling stage production with a sublime catalogue of hits and stories of Sun Records, along with other seasoned band members, Lisa Marmur, Trent McKenzie, Adam Coad and Adrian Whyte.

Mick Pacholli

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
