New collab/remix out!

But first, Happy New Year everyone! I hope you got some rest, sun, sleep and fun over the past few weeks. I took a trip down to the beach, and have been reading some excellent books (including “Black Hole Survival Guide” by Janna Levin, soooo good!).

I have also been planning my 2023. And it’s gonna be huge.

The first bit of big news that I have to share is that I will be releasing my new album An Inaccurate History of Electronic Dance Music on March 30. And it will be available on vinyl! I listened to the test pressing last night (a copy of the vinyl record that gives us artists a chance to check for any issues and make any last adjustments). It sounded so crisp and clear and I was dancing around like an idiot in my lounge room. This is a good sign. There are only 150 copies of the vinyl available, so when I open pre-orders in March, you will be the first to know.

The other bit of news I have to share today is that I have just released a dreamy remix of my single Dreaming of You over on my shop. This collab is a remix by my very good friend, and total sound genius Kelly Ryall who goes by the name Blackwood Road. Kelly does things with sound that will astound you. (We actually worked together in the Melbourne Theatre Production of Cyrano – Kelly was sound designer, and I was musical director.) This remix is full of shimmering vocoder effects and punchy dance beats. You can listen/buy now.

For those of you in Naarm/Melbourne, I will be finishing up my Union Hotel Sunday Residency this Sunday at 3:30-4:30pm. I have loved the weekly gigs exploring songs from my entire catalogue, including songs from The Twoks and The Hosies. So much fun. I hope to see you there.

Big, awesome times ahead.

Love Xani xx
