SPRINGTIME JAZZ: 

JMQ Jazz Ensemble heralds the Spring on Thursday, SEPT 1, featuring fine Jazz vocalist JACKIE BORNSTEIN and tenor saxophonist ANTON DELECCA at the welcoming Golden Gate Hotel at 7pm – 238 Clarendon St, South Melbourne (cnr. Coventry)

Jackie:
Having performed Jazz in venues in Australia and abroad for more than two decades, Jackie has developed a particular talent for storytelling through song. Known for her richly toned vocals and ability to get to the heart of a tune, Jackie imparts a range of emotions through her use of varied vocal timbres. Performing her favourite tunes from yesteryear, Jackie’s modern interpretations are influenced by her study of vocal greats including Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Carmen McCrae, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves and others. – NOT to be missed!
Anton:
Has always been respected due to his outstanding gifts as a soloist, recording artist and in demand player for local and international bands. And pre-covid he spent some time in NYC, performing and studying – always keen to develop further his attributes as an exceptional jazz artist.
This week, with them, you will enjoy Michael Harding (piano), Ryan Menezes (drums), Anton Delecca (saxophone) Ben Robertson (double bass) & John Montesante (flugelhorn/ trumpet).

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
