In a resounding return to the music scene, 28-year-old singer-songwriter Roy Lucian Baza, formerly known as Dom Baza, is set to unveil his second album this Spring. After a hiatus due to being diagnosed with the eye disease Glaucoma, Roy embraced progress, inclusivity, and diversity through the power of his music. His debut album “Roy” released last year, showcased a multitude of genres within the pop spectrum, revealing Roy’s broad spectrum of influences and creating an all-encompassing sound that resonated far and wide.

Roy Lucian Baza returned in 2024 and offered fans the first glimpse of his new record with the stunning alt-pop anthem, ‘Finally Me’. The groovy and soulful track serves as a testament to Roy’s journey of self-discovery as an artist and the introduction to his forthcoming album ‘Loverboy Lucian’.

Roy now shares the infectious lead single from the album, ‘Aim for The Heart’, which showcases Roy’s signature blend of joyous melodies and heartfelt lyricism. With its modernised pop sound, the song captures the euphoric feeling of falling in love, inviting listeners on a journey of romantic wanderlust and hope.

He has the unique quality to write melodics that are singalong yet transcend the norm. The best example being in the middle eight of the track where the synth line octaves above and the production builds alongside, then Roy really showcases his vocals in a soaring melody line, switching between falsetto so seamlessly before landing back into the chorus.

Reflecting the inspiration behind the track, Roy says “When I think of Aim for the heart, I think about the joy of falling in love. This song brings me to happier times, and gives me hope for more joy and romantic wanderlust to come. It gives me hope, and always puts a smile on my face.”

‘Aim For The Heart’ is the true showcase of Roy Lucian Baza’s intoxicating and joyful brand of alt-pop and sets the stage for what promises to be a very exciting second record. Drawing inspiration from artists like The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Prince once more in this offering, Baza seems to combine artists of old and new, in a captivating dosage of pop that everyone can enjoy, listen and relate to.
