The last seven years have been tumultuous for all creatures great and small. What was, is now unrecognisable: Our homes, our societies, our cities and ourselves.

In the broader context of this odious chapter in our history; both private & collective grief seem to echo one another. Love and grief (and the privilege it affords those left behind) are enduring, oddly reliable certainties.

This body of work is intended to show the chasm of life, love and death in its simplest form.

Dedicated to Mark Linskill, died November 28, 2021, in Perth, WA.

Echos: grief and love is Hayley’s first exhibition in 7 years with the previous show Five Bells in 2015, honouring her then recently deceased father Allan Browne.
