MICF: Gameshow of Thrones and Hi-Visabella

Making its Melbourne premiere at The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Gameshow of Thrones is the latest show ready to take all of WesterAUS by storm! Featuring a rotating cast of the festival’s funniest performers and hosted by the most beloved, feared and revered host in all the land, Isabella Valette!

When you play The Gameshow of Thrones, you win or you cry. A host of comedians must pledge their allegiance to a house and must prove their worthiness through stand-up comedy, through wit, intellect and sheer nerve. As these performers ruthlessly roast one another, compete for the audiences’ affections and bravely withstand deadly audience heckling, only one will emerge victorious to become the protector of the realm and earn the right to sit on the coveted Iron Throne.

About host Isabella Valette:

Melbourne-based performer Isabella Valette is a Game of Thrones supernerd and multifaceted stage performer. She trained at the prestigious Arts’ Educational Schools London, which is presided over by Andrew Lloyd Webber. There, she completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Musical Theatre. She has gone one to write and perform three original one woman shows: Media Release, Mediawhore and Princesstuous. She is also a member of Melbourne’s long-running improvised comedy troupe The Big HOO-HAA, and improvised musical comedy troupe Impromptunes.

Host Isabella Valette shares her thoughts on the show:

‘I love making people happy, reminding adults how to be silly and getting them involved in group games and heckling.

‘I’m super excited to find innovative and creative ways to express my love for Game of Thrones. The audience will be the extra character in this show. They don’t have to get involved, no one will be embarrassed, it’s more of a mob mentality group, nerdy verbal football match type of interaction. It’s a great excuse to have a drink and laugh with friends midweek or have an awesome weekend out.’

Praise for Isabella Valette:

‘Isabella has never ending energy combined with a sharp tongue and sassiness spilling out of the room. She has the seasoned cabaret performer instincts to interact and control the room.’ -Stories Well Told

“Isabella’s show is a must-watch for her effortless performance” – The Advertiser
