In the glass: Rather dark showing a shimmering purple rim around the edge of the glass.
On the nose: Dense but fresh fruits waft up from the glass blackberry, raspberries wrapt in damp soil.
In the mouth: I though the acid was exceptional, coaching the fruit out to reveal darker blackberries and raspberries than the nose interacted with a hint of liquorice creeping in mid palate all underpinned by this lovely acidity cleansing the palate with every mouthful with a balanced fresh fruit to medium bodied finish.
I thought this wine offered excellent value and have no trouble rating it – 5 Stars.

the Rot has set in.
I enjoyed this wine with a rack of lamb that I got through my father-in-law on a farm in Myall Vic.
Home butchered and hung for 14 days in a cool room it has a fuller almost gamey taste compared to shop-bought lamb.
I find the gamey taste works well with a more rustic style CDR. So I would suggest mutton or goat if you don’t have a relation on the farm.
