challengers are ready to fire ahead of october 1st challenger event

All 8 Pockets satellite opens have now been run and won.

In two weeks’ time, 32 of the country’s next best players will gather at Pockets in Tullamarine, for what looms as a viewing feast.

The satellite series generated an overwhelming amount of interest and support, with literally hundreds of would-be challengers vying for those 8 exclusive 2023 Pro Series spots. The talent lining up on October 1st for this one-day extravaganza of pool is nothing short of sensational.

Evergreen champion players, Paull Clack, Matt Harmon and Alan Brown will take on the likes of brilliant young guns Jayme White, Jamie Buettner and Danyal Porter. Then we have players like Chris Beagley (ex-world team) & Marc Bingham, dual Australian team. Australian Singles champs Ben Foster and Kurt Dunham. Other world class players including Dave Rothall, Jakk Phillips, Gus Di Giorgio, Nathan McMahon, Temujin Dixon and Mikey Cacciola; and there are plenty more……. all very serious contenders.

You will be able to watch all this unfold as it happens on the Pockets Sports live stream for only $9.99. This is a one-day event. Locals can take a drive out to the cauldron at Tullamarine and watch it live for FREE.

The matches will be a fast-paced race to 6, played over a maximum of 50 minutes, with 6 red shootouts deciding any draws. Players will be further under the pump with a 30 second shot clock. The format is a double elimination (repechage) knockout, played on Supreme tables. Most of the out-of-town players will not have had much time on these tables, making this a very unpredictable event.

Only eight players can make it through to the 2023 Pro Series. It is going to take a mixture of grit and determination, plus the ability to adapt quickly to grab a top eight spot.

Who will join the elites of Aussie pool?

Tune in on Saturday 1st October to find out.
