Broken rice: I was describing this to friends in Australia.
Different to normal rice only in appearance due to it being broken in harvesting and processing.
Broken rice is popular in South-East Asia (and Africa) as a local food and is exported as a cheaper rice ingredient for baby food etc.
If anything, broken rice better absorbs flavors.
I like broken rice very much.
So does my waistline.
