Reflecting on the song, Jessy Yasmeen shares, “This song describes a moment I’ve long suppressed and couldn’t find the courage to talk about. I felt guilt and shame, while it wasn’t my fault. I realised I had to write about this for my own healing process, but also because it is not only part of mine but our reality and therefore needs to be outspoken.”

‘That Day’ showcases Jessy Yasmeen’s exquisite vocals and poignant songwriting, offering listeners a transformative musical experience. With its raw emotional depth and relatable themes, the single challenges societal taboos and encourages listeners to confront their own struggles. With a debut album on the horizon, this is only just the start for Jessy Yasmeen this year.
