WELCOME BACK TO WAMPLIFIER!

Over the last month industry professionals have been undertaking Song of the Year judging and the top 20 have been notified! There was so much talent seen this year and we want to congratulate and recognise every single person who submitted a song, the judges were blown away with you all! An announcement revealing Song of the Year 2023 nominees and judges will also be out shortly, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Planning for the 2023 WAM Song of the Year Awards Night is well and truly underway, and is once again proud to be presented by Act Belong Commit, a community-based health promotion campaign that encourages people to be proactive about their mental health and wellbeing. We are excited to announce the awards will be held on the 20th of June at Freo.Social. Tickets and further information will be available in the coming weeks.

In alignment with this years upcoming awards, we invite you to join us for our “Backyard Songwriting Sessions.” These will involve a morning of songwriting inspiration and mentally healthy conversations, right here in WAM’s backyard, on Heathcote Reserve. Find out more in the news and events section of this newsletter.

Our Sound Check Music Publishing Workshop with Clive Hudson from Perfect Pitch Publishing is taking place May 3rd, making this your last chance to register – keep in mind members are free! (code available via the member hub). This will be a valuable session learning all about the importance of music publishing, what music publishers do, when is it the right time to think about music publishing, how to know when it is the right time to talk with a music publisher and synchronisation and co-writing.
