My Kooky, Almost, Not Quite Animated Video has arrived. There are no fancy hi-res images, lighting is dodgy, and continuity is haphazard but it’s big on tenderness and has heart so I hope you revel in its innocence…. here’s the special reveal to you all before I share it publicly tomorrow. Oh, the perks!

DON’T BITE THE APPLE was written a while ago – it’s a folky pop song about temptation and its perils. Sweets sounds, edgy topic.

I recorded it for DREAMLAND with Esther Henderson on violin, Amy Valent Curlis – percussion, Denis Close on more percussion, Pat Quinn – bass & I played my big bodied Takamine guitar & that’s the track you hear on the clip.

A long time ago I played around in Photo Booth and set up a faux outdoor scene involving an apple, a tree and a fur coat as a backdrop with Kokeshi dolls as actors and actresses. I did 4 one shot takes of me moving my little friends around to an acoustic version of the song.

I held on to the footage and finally edited it into this piece of primitive cinematic eccentricity.

I’m not playing this month but have shows booked for October and November (including opening for the beautiful BLACKBIRDS FC album launch at George Lane) – and a fancy film clip made by the fabulous Georgie Durham is under way.
Keep the faith xx TLD

Thanks to everyone who came to the Lyrebird.
It turned into one of those mysterious magical nights.
Here’s a psychedelic picture to celebrate the occasion.
