“Borte: Empress of the World”

This is a public workshop presentation of a new piece of music theatre in partnership with the Kazakhstan government and Eurasian Creative Guild. Written by Dulut Isabekov, 80 year old Kazakhstan’s premiere playwright. The play set in 1210 AD puts on stage an extraordinary woman’s story. Börte, the first wife of Genghis Khan, as the Empress of the World.

  • 8 October, public workshop performance  in Melbourne, Australia
  • 18 October, public workshop performance in Almaty, Kazakhstan
  • 21 October, Moving forward to a workshop performance at the Kazakhstan embassy in London, UK
  • 10-16 December, The premiere of the full show in Melbourne, Australia as part of the International Eurasian Festival.

Mick Pacholli

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
