I opened my last bottle of this stunning wine over the New year break and found it had matured and changed considerably since my last bottle. Making me wish I had purchased a lot more than just a 6pk. A hell of a lot more in fact because now if you can find 2016 you are paying $80.00 a pop.
In the glass
Dark fruit, with that fragrant, inviting Grenache nose of red rose, rounded raspberry and hints of old wood wafting up from the glass.
In the mouth
The wine has moved to a deep rounded ripe but dry aged red currant/raspberry flavour. With smooth tannins wrapped up in rich fruit cake flavours and velvet-like tannins that have dissolved into the wine giving texture and mouth feel.
This is a noteworthy wine, purely for the enjoyment of drinking a dam good bottle of wine at the end of the day.
