Stuck for the perfect present for friends and family and don’t want to battle crowds at a shopping mall?
Come along to the new

Fitzroy Street Market in St Kilda to explore more than 30 shops and stalls on Fridays on December 7, 14 and 21 from 3-8 pm.

Gorgeous fashion and jewellery, vegan leather goods, Christmas decorations, sustainable active wear, pawfect dog bowties, quirky designer puzzles, stunning handmade belt buckles, eyecatching homewares, watches, ceramics, stationery, men’s and children’s items and skincare are among the high-quality products on offer.

Shoppers can pop in at fantastic bars, cafes and restaurants as they make their way along this iconic street and watch the sunset for the full St Kilda experience. Australia’s only existing rainbow road is also nearby for a quick selfie in between shopping.

Port Phillip Council Mayor Dick Gross said St Kilda’s reputation as a live music hub was reflected in market-goers being able to enjoy free live music by local musicians, as well as live street art.

“These pop-art market stalls by independent and emerging designers, artists and brands are a great opportunity to pick up a special gift in a fun and festive atmosphere,” Cr Gross said.

The new market is the latest addition to Council’s placemaking program for Fitzroy Street, South Melbourne and Waterfront Place.

The initiative encourages residents, traders and property owners to work with Council on trials, pop-ups and minor works to enhance each location’s unique “look and feel”.

“Our Council is proud to be offering this great shopping and entertainment opportunity at Fitzroy Street in the lead-up to Christmas and in the sunset of Hanukkah,” Cr Gross said.

“Great shopping, easy access to fantastic food and drink and one of the best sunsets in the world, all easily reached by tram.

“Fitzroy Street has a lot to offer and we hope visitors to the market will keep returning to enjoy St Kilda.”
