The Mojo Corner + Doc Halibut

Together now for more than 10 years, The Mojo Corner are a tight knit unit of great friends and musicians that are continuing to grow and develop their sound. Never sitting still they have a reputation for tight and energetic live shows. The songs written are from a time that is theirs and are straight from the heart. Not tied down to one genre.

They are Rock. They are Roots. They are Blues. They have Soul.

Doc Halibut’s rock n’ roll and pop exhibits an authentic heart and irrepressible energy to carry any audience aloft and along for the ride. Through raucous sections of interpretation and improvisation to precise craftsmanship – the everpresent quip, jibe and plaintive observation of Andy Ferguson’s lyricism stands central to the 5 piece’s sound.

Doc Halibut’s live shows recreate and reinterpret their songbook with energy, passion and more often than not, a large dose of larrikin humour.

Shannon Bourne Band

(George Lane Matinee Sessions)

Shannon Bourne is a critically-acclaimed blues-and-roots-founded guitarist, singer and songwriter with a strong following of discerning fans and the power to sway audiences with the naked emotion and sheer virtuosic power of his soul-searing performances.

Shannon’s song-writing influences — Richard Thompson, Beck, Matt Walker and Scott Walker — take the Shannon Bourne Band sound from bluesy, hard-edged, riff-laden rock to guitar-based sonically exploratory progressive and post rock, while remaining strongly accessible to audiences. And always there is extreme emotional honesty, the baring of a soul that knows darkness, and a musical sweetness and delicacy also.

As a master guitarist and slide-guitarist with a distinctive and unique guitar voice, Shannon ranks among Australia’s very finest players, a peer to the likes of Geoff Achison and Jeff Lang with both of whom he often shares a stage and few others. Shannon will be joined by his band for this show.

Shane Pacey Trio

“The Guitar and Voice of The Legendary Bondi Cigars, Foreday Riders and PACEY KING & DOLEY is bringing it back home, with his namesake Band!”.

In a time when the Blues is in great danger of being swallowed by the all-encompassing term “roots music,” the very concept of a Blues band seems to be almost a quaint idea.

SHANE PACEY TRIO…are that rare (and becoming rarer!) thing…

Shane states “The main aim is to create something totally different to The Cigars” ,a no-nonsense trip through the Blues back pages Played with his customary attack and passion, then add a killer Rhythm Section… this band hits you right in solar plexus”.
