In the glass – Dark, Rich and Intense the wine looks solid and inviting right from the start.

On the nose faint notes of Eucalyptus, the usual hints of age after all its 12yo, and under cork.

In the mouth WOW, robust fruit with dark Jamaican old spice Chocolate hints finishing long, dark rich and lingering with good oak, acid and tannins still all in the right place.

A deep dark wine that is best described as beautiful. An exceptionally well-made wine, I Can’t believe just how well this wine has travelled and it still has years ahead of it.

Putting this wine at the TOP of my list of must-have well priced Australian wines.

You can spend a lot more than $100.00 on a bottle of wine these days and be disappointed or (ripped off). Whatever way you look at it.

Truly guys, Christmas day is just weeks away.

And I for one don’t muck around, I put the best wines I can afford on the lunch table.

Wine fact:

Look beyond the big brands. You don’t have to spend hundreds on the likes of Benfolds big red tomato sauce to get a serious bottle of Australian wine, Red or White.

$80.00 will get you a Tyrrells Hunter Valley Semillon, one of Australia’s best whites without question (well, I think so). There are some stunning Rieslings for $40.00 and some ball-busting alternant grape verities out there at $50.00 and a good Tasmanian sparkling will set you back $60.00

It’s one day of the year to spoil yourself guys.

The way things are looking, my old mate

One Crook Thong could drop, the bomb at any time, so this Christmas party like you mean it.

Remember – Even God used to drink red wine, and I might point out, he used to make it himself.

The Food:

Enjoyed this wine with a thick cut – T bone steak with a red wine and mushroom reduction, served with green veg and homemade beer batter fries.

Food fact:

Don’t bother making the bloody chips, just buy the beer batter fries from the supermarket,

they will look and without any uncertainty taste much better.

We all learn by our mistakes.

the new way we drink in 2022the Rot has set in.
