Planet of the 8s + Beautiful Bedlam + Fabulous Contraption + Sliknita + Palpitations @ the Graveyard

April 27 @ 4:45 am - 7:45 am AEST

Join us on this multifarious adventure across the progressive music landscape, with many surprise stops along the way to visit unexpected genres.
Planet of the 8s
Desert stoner rock. Riffs in high places, groovy AF. Experience an intense journey through space and time, the excitement of the heavy and the reprieve, the chaos and the long-winding rabbit hole. We’re getting comparisons to Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Queens of the Stone Age, and Faith No More in parts. None of that’s a leap. It’s big and groovy. There’s guitars.
Beautiful Bedlam
Beautiful Bedlam, much like their oxymoron band name suggests, will deliver a melodic and manic blend of progressive/alternative rock music, with hints of jazz, metal and more.
Fabulous Contraption
A living, breathing machine constructed from modern jazz, experimental metal and progressive rock. Their music moves from slick and streamlined to primordial chaos, from calmly hypnotic grooves to frenetic punk chaos. You’ll hear soaring solos, open-structured improvisations, intricate synthesiser and guitar lines, dirty grooves, and all manner of metric mayhem.
Sliknita
Loud post-rock with elements of noise, doom and shoegaze.
“Sliknita have honed in on this craft of creating anticipation, teasing and then erupting… The Prawn Variant is well worth your time to sit, space out and get swept away with a tide of tones, melodies and crashing walls of noise.” Sean Daly, Echoes and Dust
Palpitations
Funk/Rock/Metal duo Palpitations are a small band with a huge sound. Matt Hood on bass and vocals, Bonnie Roe on drums and electronics.
