Abi Lee Quintet @ Brunswick Green

May 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

Abi Lee is a pianist, composer, and, improviser. Born to Korean parents, she grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. Abi has relocated to Melbourne, drawn by her love of Australian Jazz. Since the age of 5, her love for piano and music has always been a driving force for her, which led her to study under Andrea Keller.
Abi’s newly formed quintet focuses on exploring the endless possibilities and freedom in lead sheets and improvisations. Her new originals for this ensemble will feature luscious harmonies between two saxophones and the rhythm section’s flowing yet dense compositional voice heavily influenced by Keith Jarrett and Mike Nock. This will be a premier of two sets of new tunes.
