In the glass a dark red almost garnet in colour.
On the nose – the wine is still young with ripe fruit aromas of plumb and cassis and purple flowers.
In the mouth it’s all left bank Rhone, a wonderful mix of soil and oak hints with sufficient tannins to hold the wine together, and the incredible dull but ripe fruit that only France can achieve.
I personally love Rhone wines for this fruit flavour, it’s like biting into a white dusted just ripe grape.
I might not have given a clear enough description of how much I love Rhone wine.
You can start at the less expensive end of Côtes-du-Rhône at around $25.00 this will get you started on a French journey that I hope will get you to explore and fall in love with Rhone as I have.
the Rot has set in.

I love this wine with fat beef BBQ sausages with creamy mass potatoes and home made onion gravy.
