Sunday was another warm day at work, flat out between serving at the bar and running meals to customers that kept coming in one after the other all day.
The end of the day and I need a drink. What to have?
Spotted an inviting reddish pink colour sparkling in the fridge from Coldstream Hills a name that I trust; and for $25.00 it would do the trick, I just wanted to wash the taste of work from my mind until tomorrow.
(It’s time to Celebrate guys) I have found a sparkling Rose for $25.00, that punched well above its price tag – most importantly, I really did enjoy it!
In the Glass, a rather vibrant sparkle and as I have already stated a rather inviting reddish pink colour.
Nose:
Ripe Strawberries with fresh citrus notes waft from the glass.
Palate:
Strawberry and redberry fruits, with beautifully balanced ripe acidity, easy to drink and did not burn the throat as some cheaper sparkling rose wines do.
The fruit comes from the cooler part of the Upper Yarra Valley.
Where it flows through from Warrandyte to Yarra Glen, it has the Dandenong Ranges to its south and Christmas Hills to the north.
I enjoyed this wine by itself as it was that easy to drink. However, I think it would be good to start the evening off with prawn nibbles.
