In the glass a golden hue with a fine stream of small bubbles.
On the nose red and green grapes and a rather buttery brioche.
Champagne is such a personal and individual taste. This Champers tick all of the boxes for me as it started out a little like Veuve Clicquot being rather light in the mouth.
However, with a little time the aromas built along with the power of the wine, this may have been the pinot noir content kicking in.
If you hunt around you can at times pick this up for $50.00 making it a bit of a bargain however if you hunt around this time of year you can find many mainstream Champers at bargain prices it’s just a case of finding one you enjoy at a price you are willing to pay.
I enjoyed this Champagne with smoked trout on grain crackers. The crunch of the crackers and the creamy smoked trout worked a treat.
