“…swaggering tenor saxophone…carefully crafted compositions give way to raw exoticism…” John Shand, Limelight.

Aurora Lumina performs innovative new music infused with fresh bursts of creative improvisation.

Led by the highly accomplished composer and saxophonist Jenny Game, the works invoke a spine-tingling interplay of jazz, Middle Eastern and Western art music.

Game, whose diverse career boasts many highlights, has most recently returned from Vienna, where her new work In the Hocket was premiered by New York’s iCARUS ensemble during the 2022 Vienna Summer Music Festival.

In 2019, she composed the music for the acclaimed physical theatre production Dispersion:

“Frankly, Dispersion blew me away. Add to that live, globetrotting music from Dr Jenny Game, who also composed the score, and you get an immersive experience that suggests worlds within worlds.” Cameron Woodhead, The Age, June 19, 2019.”

Aurora Lumina also features virtuoso percussionist Peter Neville (Elision), Michael Currie, whose five-string double bass brings an extraordinary dimension and Poul Grage, whose hand drums and driving kit rhythms offer a subtle accompaniment.
