JMQ Jazz Ensemble is delighted to feature all round entertainer-singer, TRACY BARTRAM at Jazz Thursdays, Upstairs at The Water Rat Hotel, this Thursday, MAR 19, 2020 at 7pm.(Doors 6.30pm), with SAM LEMANN on Guitar
Presently, many Jazz venues in Melbourne are staying open, due to historically moderate audience numbers. Upstairs at The Water Rat is a spacious area, so tables will be spaced at least 1.5 – 2 metres apart ensuring you are not too close to other patrons. There is also more frequent in-house cleaning of balustrades, door knobs, surfaces and loos, along with vigilant staff + musicians hygiene, so you may relax and enjoy the show. Of course, everyone is aware of the fluid Covid-19 situation and we shall adapt accordingly, and keep you in the picture.
In 2009, after singing since infancy, versatile entertainer, Tracy Bartram decided to do what she loved, forming a Jazz Ensemble and performing with the best musicians in town. She had a 3 year jazz residency at Dizzy's Jazz Club, with a great following, and we are pleased to introduce her to our dedicated jazz audience. Tracy is also well known as a comedian, radio broadcaster, and an exceptional keynote speaker, and has been called the best MC in the country, a title she is happy to own. Sam Lemann is a master of versatility on guitar, and the preferred choice of many singers and local bands as well as international and interstate artists. His outstanding playing can be heard on over 50 CDs, with his favourite music ‘40’s and 50’s Swing Jazz – while he plays all styles superbly.
These fine artists shall join the JMQ Jazz Ensemble, singing and playing Jazz standards for your pleasure, with Michael Harding (piano), Tom Lee (double bass), Hugh Harvey (drums) + John Montesante (trumpet + flugelhorn). Culinary pleasures and drinks, friendly staff and great company and you are set for a night to remember.
