Ned Branchi Band (Album Launch) (George Lane Mat. Sessions)
Melbourne born Singer songwriter Ned Branchi returns to his old stomping ground St Kilda, for a matinee performance at George Lane on Saturday May 16th with “The Ned Branchi band”.
Supporting will be Robin Casinader: Songwriter and Keyboard player in “Dave Graney & Coral Snakes”. Casinader, also a well known songwriter will be performing his own original music in the first set and then Joining in the last set on some of the songs in The Ned Branchi Band.
Special guest Jack Howard has played trumpet with Hunters and Collectors and for the last 20 years, he’s been releasing his own highly- regarded music. Along the way, he’s also played with The Living End, The Violent Femmes, Rodriguez and a host of others. In 2017, Jack toured the world with Midnight
Oil as their trumpeter/multi-instrumentalist.

Waz E James & Scott Wilson
Waz E James is a respected Melbourne-based Alt-Country and Americana singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been performing professionally since the late 1970s. His music has received international airplay across the US, UK and Europe, with acclaimed producer John Beland describing him as “one of Australia’s best kept secrets.” He continues to perform regularly in Melbourne, including a long-standing residency in St Kilda.
Lead guitarist Scott Wilson joined Waz six years ago after the pair first met touring in the 1990s. Wilson is also known for his work with acclaimed Indigenous artist Kutcha Edwards and ARIA Award-winning collaborations with Dan Sultan.
The band is rounded out by bassist Dougy McDowell, founder of Precious Earth Records and a respected figure in Melbourne’s jazz and blues scene, alongside veteran drummer Scotty Martin, whose career spans Melbourne’s rock, blues and ska scenes since the early 1980s.

Chris Surgey Group + The Steve Boyd Band (George Lane Matinee Sessions) * FREE ENTRY *
Chris Surgey is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and former frontman of the band Bright Yellow, who recently returned with his 2025 solo EP Wicked Seas. Following recovery from addiction and mental health challenges, he currently fronts the Chris Surgey Group (a trio with Johnny Tesoriero and Paul Slattery) and has performed with the band Spinakker. His new single ‘Don’t Leave Tonight’ was out in February 2026.
The Steve Boyd Band are also playing on the day.
